filiming dance

Many dance teachers and artist are afraid to film their work because they feel that it will get stolen or presented without their permission. Have you ever tried to steal a dance step for step off a video? It is insanely difficult. I get really upset when teachers refuse to film their work. There are some dances that I want to see over and over again just like I want to hear a song over and over. I think that you should be able to purchase a dance or dance concert just like you do music. Can you imagine if musicians refused to publish their works and you could only enjoy them at a concert? Where would we be? Musicians have come into the 21st century and I think that dance needs to do the same. So what is the problem? Why don't teachers, choreographers and dancers publish their works so that anyone can enjoy them and preform them for a price? Tell me you thoughts, would you want your work published and given out?

great point. i agree, where would we be without published work, recipes, patterns for clothes. dance is another form of art, and should be shared. what great questions to think about.
